Decide which kinds of nudges you want, and when.
What this does
- Turns off notifications during set hours (e.g. overnight).
- Lets you switch off whole categories — reminders, birthdays, household updates, email summaries.
- Keeps you in control without forcing all-or-nothing.
When to use this
- You don't want pings between 9pm and 7am.
- You want reminders but not birthday notifications.
- You're going on holiday and want fewer interruptions.
How it works
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- Quiet mode — set start and end times. Notifications during those hours are held back.
- Categories — toggle each on or off independently.
- Overdue style — choose how loudly overdue items remind you (gentle vs persistent).
Important things to know
- Reminders held back by quiet mode aren't lost — they wait until quiet hours end.
- Turning off a category means you won't get *any* notifications from it, including from items you confirmed.
- The reminder bell badge on item cards still appears even with quiet mode on — it's a visual cue, not a sound.
Common questions
- Will quiet hours stop emergency reminders? All scheduled reminders pause during quiet hours. There is no "emergency" override yet.
- Where do I check what came in during quiet hours? Open the bell icon in the top bar, or visit Notifications.
