When someone in your household assigns an item to you, you decide whether to take it on.
What this does
- Shows a banner on items that have been assigned to you.
- Lets you accept, adjust the proposed reminder time, or decline.
- Confirms back to the assigner so they know you've seen it.
When to use this
- Your partner sends you a task and you want to confirm you're on it.
- You'd rather not take it on right now — decline so they know.
- The proposed reminder time doesn't suit you.
How it works
- The item appears in your Inbox with an assignment banner.
- Tap Accept to take it on as-is.
- Tap Adjust time to change a suggested reminder before accepting.
- Tap Decline if you can't take it on.
- The assigner sees a small status update — Seen, Accepted, or Declined.
Important things to know
- A suggested reminder is inactive until you accept. It won't ping your phone uninvited.
- Accepting moves the item into your active list and turns on the reminder (if there was one).
- Declining notifies the assigner. They can reassign or take it back themselves.
Common questions
- What if I accept then change my mind? Open the item, edit the assignee, or remove yourself from owners.
- Will my partner see if I'm late? They see the same item. Overdue states are visible to everyone it's shared with.
