A 10-minute setup that makes everything else easier.

What this does

  • Walks you through the few things worth doing on day one.
  • Sets up your household, children, and notifications so capture works smoothly later.

When to use this

  • You've just signed up.
  • You're moving from a notes app or shared family calendar.
  • You want to get value before the next school email arrives.

How it works

  1. Add your name and household. Onboarding asks for your first name and gives your household a name (e.g. "The Murphy Family").
  2. Add your children. Name, photo or initial, school, and grade. This unlocks email auto-matching later.
  3. Invite your partner or co-parent (optional). They get an email link to join the same household.
  4. Turn on notifications. Bubsby asks once. You can change this anytime in Settings.
  5. Capture your first thing. Tap the + button and try typing a quick task or holding the mic.

Important things to know

  • You can skip any step and come back to it from Settings.
  • Your household is shared — partners see the same children, items, and shopping list.
  • Roles control what people can do (see Roles and Permissions).

Common questions

  • Can I add a child later? Yes, anytime, in Settings → Children.
  • Do I need to invite my partner now? No. You can run solo and add people later.
